DESCRIPTION:If you have been wanting to learn a bit more about our local tree species beyond just evergreen or deciduous\, this will be the workshop for you! This workshop will be taught by Mike Waldron. Waldron is a retired dendrophile (lover of trees!) with over 35 years of experience in industrial forestry\, from working with sawmills to being a forestry consultant. He will teach the foundational elements of tree identification and then we will use those skills to identify some trees at the park. \n\nThis is a free program\, and you will receive a copy of DCNR's "Common Trees of Pennsylvania" booklet to take home with you.\n\nAll ages are welcome\, but this workshop will be most suitable for proficient readers age 8+.
