Black Male Symposium - Shippensburg University

Explore, discuss, and develop strategies with us to ensure that Black males graduate from high school an are academically and socially integrated into higher education. Exchange ideas and perspectives during the symposium to improve the experience and retention of Black males in college.

Featured speaker will be Bakari Sellers who made history in 2006 when, at just twenty-two years old, defeated a twenty-six year incumbent State Representative to become the youngest member of the South Carolina state legislature and the youngest African American elected official in the nation. In 2014, he won the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor.
