The next MSWA stream cleanup will be on Burd Run, this Saturday, 17 October.
If you would like to volunteer, please meet at the parking lot of the Burd Run restoration area (and Soccer field) in the 200 block of Britton Rd, just across the stream from the Shippensburg University Campus Farm, arriving by 9am. I expect we will end by about 11 am.
There IS *water* in this section of the stream, in contrast to all the sections we have cleaned since July.
We will need some people to walk in the stream and others to walk along the stream banks.
For those walking in the stream, waders are highly recommended. If you will be there, have waders you can wear, and are willing to be in the stream, please message me so I get a sense of how many people will be so equipped.
Footwear suitable to the environment is important and gloves are highly recommended. I strongly suggest gardening gloves made of nitrile.
Heavy duty contractor-style plastic bags will be provided.
Social distancing protocols are in effect. Everyone must wear a mask or similar face covering when proximate (e.g. within about 8') of other people who are not members of their household.
