Cumberland County Conservation District, with support from Middle Spring Watershed Association and local municipalities, is having a Rain Barrel Workshop at Shippensburg Township Park (Britton Rd), with refreshments served prior.
Participants will receive a barrel and supplies, then be guided in doing some minor assembly to produce a rain barrel they can take home and install.
Rain barrels conserve water, reduce runoff, thus helping the stream, and are a great source of water for getting your plants through dry stretches of weather.
This event is FREE and open ONLY to residents of the Middle Spring, Gum Run, or Mains Run watersheds, which is most of the Shippensburg area. If you are unsure if you live in the eligible area, email jcohick@ccpa.net, include your address, and they can tell you whether you are in the eligible area.
Reserve a spot today. This is limited to no more than 50 households.
