CVAS Dog Walk and Contests

SHIPPENSBURG – The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter will hold their 24th annual Dog Walk and Contests from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds. The event will be held rain or shine and registration begins at 9 a.m., with the walk starting at 10. Participants are asked to raise money by getting sponsors for the dog walk. All walkers will receive a participation bag. Those who raise $25 or more will receive a t-shirt. Those who raise $75 or more will get a walk down the prize table where there are some amazing items up for grabs. Sponsor sheets can be downloaded at cvas-pets.org. All monies collected will be due on the day of the walk. The canine contests will begin after the dog walk. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: best trick, best costume, best kisser, best tailwag and most obedient. A panel of judges will choose a winner from each category and prizes will be awarded. Vendors will also be included, as well as a lure course for dogs and photo opportunities.
