Public Information Meeting: Furnace Park Development Project - Hosted by Shippensburg Community Park & Recreation Authority

Southampton Township, Franklin County is currently preparing a Master Site Development Plan for the Furnace Run Park off of Lindsay Lot Road. The 226 acres site was recently purchased by the Township from New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Incorporated for the purposes of creating a public nature park. The site has great potential as a natural recreation park and the Township will be engaging the public in these initial efforts to help develop a master plan for moving forward.

Since selecting the consulting team of Barton & Loguidice of Camp Hill and Penn Trails based in Carlisle to assist in developing the plan, the Township has assembled a project committee and gathered information about the site and its potential for future recreational development.

The webinar style public meeting will be held starting at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 using Zoom Conferencing and Barton & Loguidice’s Community Forum service. The forum will present information gathered about the site and a preliminary analysis of recreational opportunities at Furnace Run Park. Public comments are welcomed and will be considered as the Master Development Plan is finalized.
