Southampton Township, Franklin County will be presenting a draft of the Master Site Development Plan for Furnace Run Park off of Lindsay Lot Road. The 226 acres site was recently purchased by the Township from New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Incorporated for the purposes of creating a public nature park. The December 2020 webinar, project committee meetings, stakeholder interviews and a recently completed public survey have provided guidance leading this early draft of the Master Development Plan. Southampton’s consulting team of Barton & Loguidice of Camp Hill and Penn Trails based in Carlisle are assisting the Township and their project committee with development of the plan. The webinar style public meeting will be held starting at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 using Zoom Conferencing and Barton & Loguidice’s Community Forum service. The forum will review the results of the public survey, and present preliminary recommendations as well as other information to be included in the Master Development Plan for Furnace Run Park. The webinar will be recorded and a link will be posted on local webpages including the Township’s Facebook page and the Shippensburg Community Parks and Recreation Authority webpage. The webinar is intended to be highly interactive and participants will be able to ask questions and post comments in a chat, all of which will be considered in refinements to the Plan. Public comments are welcomed on a continuing basis after the webinar.
