Rick Tiger and Michael McKenzie - The Thought Lot

Join us on September 7th, 2018 for a night of featured country singer-songwriters:

Rick Tiger - Songwriter - Rick Tiger grew up in south Louisiana calling New Iberia home. He is the second of 8 and cherishes every moment with his family back in the "Bayou State". His love for music began at an early age with a few guitar lessons from a local teacher. He began writing songs almost the moment he could play a simple chord structure. His biggest fans are his family and friends from the "Sugar Cane Capitol" of the world. His desire to move to Nashville didn't become a reality till 1991. After a few short years Rick had a single on the radio by a group called Western Flyer. The song "What Will You Do With M-E", co-written with Craig Martin, climbed all the way to 26 on the Billboard chart in the summer of 1996. Since that time Rick has had cuts by Montgomery/Gentry (The Fine Line), Gene Watson (Just In Case), The Del McCoury Band (Zero to Love), Joe Nichols (An Old Friend of Mine), Nu-Blue featuring legendary R&B singer Sam Moore (Jesus and Jones), Jeff Bates (For The Love of God), Bluegrass Legend Jeanette Williams (Not Ready to Let Go) and a patriotic tribute with over 100 million downloads on Dustin Evans (If I Die Before You Wake). Over the last 3 years Rick has performed House Shows from New York to California and Canada. Logging thousands of miles and almost 200 1 1/2 hr moments of story and song. His pursuit of success in the music world is an inspiration. He has been a guide for countless dreamers that make the journey to the Music City. He's considered to be a role model when it comes to his love for his faith, family, friends, life and passion for the song.

Michael McKenzie Music - Michael is a country solo artist that will take you on a ride back in time when country was country and the songs where from the heart. Even as a young boy, Michael was listening to mainly country music. With memories of sitting on the porch with his father, listening to the likes of Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Alabama, the Oak Ridge Boys, George Jones, and others heard on the Grand Ole Opry. Michael's love of classic country music is strong and lasting. Even with the influences of more modern artists such as Eric Church, Brantley Gilbert to name a few, Michael holds all of his country influences close to heart. Michael combines it all into something that for him is much more than just a song, and is instead a soulful expression. Michael enjoys meeting and talking with his audience members, and the conversations he has with them only add more value to his songwriting experiences.
