Stephanie Jirard is a Criminal Justice Professor at Shippensburg University where she received her master’s degree in Applied History in 2012. A student of popular culture trends, in this presentation Jirard examines how the socio-political framework of President Reagan’s “Shining City on a Hill” represented a shift in how Americans related to each other as represented by film, television, music, fashion, and social sensibilities.
