Join us for a supremely relaxing evening of Yoga Nidra followed by a wine tasting.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is one of moving into a deep state of conscious awareness sleep that is a deeper state of relaxation. It is a guided experience that involves moving from consciousness while awake to dreaming and then to not-dreaming while remaining awake — going past the unconscious to the conscious.
The Cleveland Clinic sites the benefits of this practice as:
* calming for the sympathetic (the fight-flight-freeze-fawn response) nervous system which allows the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system to take over
* great for immunity, digestion and stress management
* activates the pineal gland which releases the hormone melatonin which helps manage immune function, blood pressure, cortisol levels and induce restful sleep
You will need a yoga mat, blanket and anything else that allows you to be comfortable while laying on the floor.
Price is $25 with a wine tasting or
$20 if you choose not to stay for the tastings afterwards.
The class starts promptly at 6:30pm and ends at 7:30pm. The refreshments are yours to enjoy 7:30-8:30pm.
Purchases will be made from local a winemaker and cheese vendor. There will be a variety of wines ranging from semi-dry to sweet. The cheese will be from The Cheese Haus. The wine is a surprise!
Registration is required for all attendees as space is limited.
