Site Director Position

TITLE: Site Director

DEPARTMENT: Management

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations/Chief Executive Officer

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Directs/manages overall daily operations of the designated Clubs with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, and membership administration.

KEY R OLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Leadership

1. Ensure programs, services, and activities are implemented that prepare youth for success, promoting the safety of members and quality in programs at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling for members and staff.

2. Contribute to the planning and implementation of the BGC mission by: a. Planning, organizing, and implementing a range of program services and activities for club members. b. Initiate new programs with approval from Director. c. Promoting and stimulating program participation by preparing bulletin boards, and attractive marketing techniques around the club to ensure a happy and positive environment.
3. Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members and staff in program areas.
4. Manage the club facility to ensure a productive work area and a clean safe environment. Maintain all program equipment and supplies in good working order, and recommend replacing items as necessary.
5. Schedule and facilitate at least one staff meeting per month.
6. Attend all site director meetings.
7. Complete assigned trainings.

Supervision

8. In cooperation with your Unit Director, train, manage, and supervise assigned staff and volunteers: provide ongoing feedback; and identify and support development opportunities.

9. Work closely with your Unit Director in dealing with all employee attitudes that effect quality of job performance. Report all such activity to your director with written documentation where each situation will be handled professionally and promptly by the Unit Director and the Executive Director when needed.

10. Help to implement the behavior plan and manage behaviors as needed.
11. Plan and organize snacks and meals, delegating responsibilities to team members appropriately. Provide supply list to Unit Director in a timely manner.

Partnership Development

12. Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations.
13. Recruitment of new members, retention of previous/current members through creative techniques, school visits

(lunch), PTO meetings, open houses, etc.

Site Director Position

1. May participate in special programs and/or events within the community, other non-profit agencies, or other
BGC events including trainings.

2. May be required to drive van for trips/activities
3. May need to answer phones, greet visitors at the door, and attend to guests as needed.
4. Delegate duties appropriately
5. Assume other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Unit Director and Executive Director to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, and advice/counsel

External: As directed, maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or presently pursuing degree, preferred
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in planning and implementing youth programs preferred
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • Valid State Driver’s License and Insurance coverage of 100/300/100

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Fast paced and sometimes loud environment.
Requires time spent outside for activities with children in the summer.
Some lifting of boxes for food pantry and supplies
