Tree Identification Workshop

If you have been wanting to learn a bit more about our local tree species beyond just evergreen or deciduous, this will be the workshop for you! This workshop will be taught by Mike Waldron. Waldron is a retired dendrophile (lover of trees!) with over 35 years of experience in industrial forestry, from working with sawmills to being a forestry consultant. He will teach the foundational elements of tree identification and then we will use those skills to identify some trees at the park. 

This is a free program, and you will receive a copy of DCNR’s “Common Trees of Pennsylvania” booklet to take home with you.

All ages are welcome, but this workshop will be most suitable for proficient readers age 8+.
