Receptionist

The Receptionist role serves as the first point of contact for the church, welcoming guests and managing front desk communication with professionalism and warmth. This role ensures that phone calls, visitors, and basic office needs are handled efficiently while helping create a positive and organized environment for staff, attenders, and guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Receptionist at the Chambersburg campus will be responsible for the following:

1. Front Desk & Communication:

  • Answers and routes incoming phone calls to the appropriate staff member in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Welcomes and assists visitors, directing them to the appropriate staff member or location.
  • Monitors and responds to general office email inquiries, routing messages as needed.
  • Receives and distributes mail, packages, and deliveries to staff members.
  • Maintains awareness of staff schedules and availability in order to assist with calls and visitor routing.

2. Scheduling & Coordination:

  • Manages and maintains the Campus Use calendar for meetings, events, and facility requests.
  • Coordinates room scheduling and assists with basic event logistics such as key or keycard distribution and facility access.
  • Assists with scheduling counseling appointments and greeting clients upon arrival.

3. Basic Office Support:

  • Makes copies and prints materials such as ministry handouts, weekend message handouts, etc.
  • Maintains front office organization, including shared office supplies and shared spaces.
  • Assists with basic data entry and updates in the church management systems, as directed.

4. General Assistance:

  • Provides light administrative support to staff as needed, within the scope of the receptionist role.
  • Assists with simple office equipment troubleshooting (copier, phones, etc.)
  • When needed, supports preparation of spaces for meetings or volunteer activities.

5. Team Collaboration:

Each member of the GPC staff will work as a team to accomplish the mission of Grand Point Church. This may include duties outside the normal realm of their position but are imperative to the fulfillment of our objectives as a whole.
