Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Inclusion, Belonging, and Director of Social Equity, the Director of Multicultural Student Affairs will work to support the University’s strategic priorities and align them with the work in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. This position will supervise a full-time assistant director, two graduate assistants, a clerical assistant, and student workers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) at Shippensburg University aids in the overall experience of students by creating opportunities for inclusive interaction and engagement and building a supportive environment with services that promote inclusivity and belonging for the campus community.
The Director will:
- Manage programming, communications, and events for all students served by the Center so they have access to the support they need to succeed towards retention and graduation.
- Regularly assess programs and enter data into the University’s system of record, Nuventive.
- Advise all student organizations within MSA and collaborate with the Office of Greek Life in supporting the Divine 9.
- Responsible for building strategic partnerships with all departments on campus, in particular, the Learning Center, and Student Success and Retention.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and conduct evaluations on the assigned managers/staff.
- Oversee assigned budget requiring coordination of assigned categorical, general funds, and foundation resources.
- Assist in the development of grant proposals, as needed.
- Serve on University-wide committees, i.e., Comprehensive Enrollment Management Planning, etc.
- Develop and execute annual statewide conference.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
